December 2021
Hat & Glove Donations
Do you have any hats and gloves your kids no longer like to wear? Consider sending them to the troop! The troop is accepting donations of freshly washed, gently used hats and gloves to have on hand as extras for our cold weather outings. Wet or misplaced gear are things that happen, help us be prepared! Donations can be given to any leader at meetings or events.

Dec 3-5th - Rocketry Camp Out
Lone Pine
Windy Point
Accommodations: Rodney Scout Reservation, 400 Rodney Scout Rd, North East, MD 21901. Lone Pine (Male) and Windy Point (Female) bunk houses.
We will be meeting at PUMC at 6pm and leaving no later than 6:30pm on Friday evening. If your child needs a ride/has coordinated a ride with another family, point of contact is CarrieAnn for either troop. Scouts should arrive already fed or with a brown bag dinner, in class A uniform, and with bags packed for the event.
*For those driving, we have been cautioned, the driveway to camp is looong!
We will be sleeping dormitory style, in single gender bunkhouses or scouts can elect to bring their own tent. Bunkhouses are heated, with a wood stove and bunks do have mattresses. (See pics above.) A comfort station is located nearby with flushable toilets. Latrines are located near each cabin. Comfort station has been closed due to freezing ground temps in the area. Scouts created a packing list at our last scout meeting including recommendations on colder weather dressing and gear. Please see link below for the gear recommendation handouts the scouts received.
We will be returning home on Sunday with an estimated return time of 12-2 at PUMC. A message will be sent once we are underway with a more defined timeframe.
Cost for this trip is $25 per scout paid to the unit treasurer: John for the boys and Dave for the girls. If your scout has funds available this can also be subtracted from your scout's account.
