February 2022
Hat & Glove Donations
Do you have any hats and gloves your kids no longer like to wear? Consider sending them to the troop! The troop is accepting donations of freshly washed, gently used hats and gloves to have on hand as extras for our cold weather outings. Wet or misplaced gear are things that happen, help us be prepared! Donations can be given to any leader at meetings or events.
Meetings
Weekly Meetings
Our meetings are moving to hybrid meetings for the month of February. Scouts are invited to join either Tuesday or Wednesday meetings or for added fun, attend both!
Tuesdays 6:15-8:00
Tuesday meetings are in person at the fireside circle. There will be no indoor access (bathrooms) available, so plan accordingly.
Wednesdays 7:00-8:30
Wednesday meetings will be online via Zoom. Please have access to your school Chromebook or similar device.
*Jackbox games will be played either opening or closing for all virtual meetings. If scouts are joining from their phone a second internet connected device may be useful. If a scout joins from a larger screen they should be able to split screen.
Visiting cub scouts & prospective scouts are welcome to any meeting in February. Scoutmasters for the boys and girls typically attend both meetings. Please reach out to either scoutmaster if you have any questions.

Upon arrival scouts will assist in setting up the fellowship hall for the vaccination clinic later in the afternoon. At 9:45 we will begin lining up for the flag presentation. At 10:00 with the direction of Pastor Sarah, we will begin the service with a presentation of flags. Scouts will then dismiss and sit with family groups. During the service a few scouts will participate in the scout oath & laws (BSA & GS) and some readings for the service. Towards the end Josh will offer a scoutmaster moment with the congregation. At the end of service we will retrieve the flags and proceed to the fire circle to begin the flag retirement ceremony. Service is expected to be 35-40 mins.
At 11:00 our color guard will start the flag retirement ceremony. The congregation and scout families are encouraged to bring any flags they would like to retire. The troop also has several to retire already. Scouts are free to leave after the flags are retired. An honor guard will stay until all flames are extinguished naturally. If anyone would like retrieved eyelets as a keepsake please let us know.
Between 4-5 any available scouts would be able to complete an hour of service returning the fellowship hall back to the PELC set up after the vaccination clinic has ended.
