November is Rocketry!

We will be working on our rockets for the month of November and launching them at our camp out the 1st weekend in December. Each scout needs to purchase a rocket to work on in the meetings. This is the rocket they will launchThe troop will supply Estes launchpads and engines (A,B, & C) at the camp out. The troop does have a limited amount of kits for sale (pictured & named here) for $8 each, POC CarrieAnn.

What are the basics when shopping for a kit?

Estes Level 1 or 2 / Beginner & takes a A8-3, B6-4, C6-3, C6-5 engine.

My scout wants a more advanced kit or my scout wants to make a 2nd rocket.

Awesome! Be aware additional assembly time may be required outside of scouts. Non-Estes kits: You must provide launcher and engines to launch at the Dec camp out.

Where can we shop for a kit?

You can find model rocket kits at the local craft store, the Scout Store or online.

November 6th, Raingutter Regatta, Boys & Girls

We will be hosting the Raingutter Regatta at PUMC for younger scouts as a recruitment and community outreach. Breakfast and concessions will be available.

Scouts need to attend in uniform. Scouts will have the opportunity to participate in the regatta in addition to helping run it. If a scout wants to participate, boats are available at the Scout Store for $6.
