October 23rd - Orienteering Day, Boys & Girls

We are meeting at 6:30 am at PUMC. We need to be on site by 7:30-8 for check in at Patuxent River Park’s Jug Bay Natural Area in Prince George’s County. Scouts will need to pack their lunch for the event. There will be no lunch available for purchase the day of the event.

Scouts will be going over the basics of orienteering in the morning and participating in a competition in the afternoon. We will also be testing and signing off rank requirements between courses or at lunch.

Dress for the weather in your class A uniform, wear your hiking/walking shoes. Make sure your day bag has what you need including your rain jacket (check the weather the night before), water bottle, & BSA handbook. Most importantly, it doesn't have anything you don't need, as you will be carrying it around all day.

This is an opportunity for several rank requirements to be accomplished. We will also try to sign off rank requirements for those who bring their books.
